Question: is every season based on a different book in the series? Is that how this works for this show?
Yep. Season Three is based on A Clash of Kings. Theoretically, they can keep making seasons as long as George RR Martin keeps writing. However, word around the camp fire is book 7 will be the last.
And in that book, the main characters will find the last horcruxes and the lead will get the girl after he comes back the dead and establishes himself as the master of the hallows, right?
Ha! Hopefully. I’ve been saying for some time, since I made the stupid mistake of actually reading them, that the series need to wrap up already! It’s brilliant and well-written, but holy shit does the guy like to drag things out. But they say he meant for it to be a trilogy but then went the long way and ended up in book 4, which turned into book 5 when it went long, and now thinks he’ll need two more just to wrap things up. I know how he feels…
