The Starving Games

kinopoisk.ruJust learned this little gem is available for watching online. It’s called the The Starving Games, a not-so-subtly named satirical take on The Hunger Games. In addition to spoofing that sci-fi, dystopian YA hit, they also tackled franchises like The Avengers, Harry Potter and Oz the Great and Powerful to pop culture characters and celebrities like Taylor Swift, PSY, LMFAO and Honey Boo Boo.

Directed by Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer, the people who brought us Spy Hard, Scary Movie, Date Movie, Epic Movie, Meet the Spartans, Disaster Movie, and Vampires Suck, this movie promises to be entertaining for people who don’t mind seeing popular franchises being slammed, and don’t care much about good writing, acting, or coherent story lines.

Enjoy the trailer, and then check out the full movie (if you’re so inclined) over at Youtube:

The Hillywood Show: Twilight Breaking Dawn Part 2

hillywood showPeople may remember these folks from their musical parody of The Hobbit, where Gandalf and the drawves show up at Bilbo’s house to the tune of “Shots” by LMFAO. Well they’re back, this time with a much needed spoof of the latest Twilight debacle, set to the tune of Gangnam Style.

I think you’ll agree, the production values and costume work in this spoof are downright marvelous! I’m not sure who they have playing Edward here, but the words Dead Ringer came to mind a few times! And Hillary Hindi, I swear, just BECOMES Bella, only she has a much greater range and can do more than just stand there and look sardonically unimpressed!

And let’s not forget the dance choreography. I’m sure the Gangnam people demanded royalties, given the close approximation between this spoof and their weird-ass video.

But of course, I would be remiss if I didn’t point out that the ever-talented sisters, Hilly & Hannah Hindi, have chosen to shed the dwarf and hobbit garb in favor of vampire outfits and colored contacts in this video. Much more becoming than all that facial and foot hair, I tell ya 😉

Enjoy the show…

Dark Knight Parody

Hey all, I thought I’d share this little nuggat, the “The Dark Knight is Confused” by professional spoofsters The Key of Awesome. This is an oldie, but given all the Batman news of late, I thought it might be fun to post.

If you haven’t seen it yet, you really need to! Few people like to acknowledge that the Dark Knight had some serious plot holes, but these guys manage to make fun of them in just the right way. And the Joker and Alfred impersonations are pretty spot on. Click on it!
